Most of the Asian markets have recovered from a disastrous start in 1998. However, after initial signs of improvement, the situation in Indonesia is deteriorating. Citizens in Indonesia took to the streets recently to protest the nation's economic woes. This week, Indonesia's main bank chief was dismissed. President Suharto is again at odds with the International Monetary Fund over the economic reforms that accompanied the loans that helped keep Indonesia's economy from collapsing. Economic analysts have said that there will be more bumps this year for investors in Asia's markets.
